YouTube Screenshot Studio — Chrome Extension

This privacy policy governs your use of the YouTube Screenshot Studio browser extension (the "Extension").

1. Data Collection & Transmission

Zero Personal Data Collection: The Extension does not collect, record, or track any personally identifiable information (PII).
No Remote Servers: The Extension runs entirely on the client-side inside your browser. No data, videos, metadata, or captured frames are ever sent to any remote servers, databases, or third parties.
No Analytics: We do not use any analytical tools, tracking cookies, or external scripts.

2. Permissions Used

The Extension requests the following browser permissions solely to enable core features locally:

activeTab / tabs: Used exclusively to read the YouTube video's title, channel name, and current timecode to auto-generate the screenshot filename.
downloads: Used to trigger the local file download to your machine when capturing frames.
storage: Used to save your format preferences (TIF/JPG) and custom keyboard shortcut locally within your browser.

3. File System Access

When using the local folder selection feature, the folder handle is stored securely inside your browser's local database (IndexedDB). We do not have access to your local files or directories.

4. Third-Party Websites

The Extension operates on YouTube (youtube.com). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of YouTube or Google LLC.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be updated on this page.
